Pietro "Pete" Pizzo was born in the year 1948 in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. However, his childhood was marked by a significant relocation, as his family moved to Bloomington, Indiana, where he spent most of his formative years. Despite being an average student during his high school days at University High School, Pizzo's academic prowess began to shine at Indiana University, where he majored in political science and briefly entertained the idea of pursuing a law degree. Nevertheless, upon graduation, Pizzo found himself grappling with uncertainty and a lack of direction regarding his future. It was during this period of introspection that his passion for film began to take center stage, particularly his fascination with epic movies that had a profound impact on his imagination, transporting him to a world beyond his own. David Anspaugh, a close collaborator and friend of Pizzo's, shared the director's chair with him on multiple projects, including the highly acclaimed "Hoosiers", a cinematic tale that delved deeper into themes of redemption, second chances, and relationships, rather than simply being a sports movie.
