Biography

Anjelica Rose Scannura was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is proud of her Maltese and Irish heritage. Her journey in dance began at the tender age of four, and since then, she has been fascinated by various forms of dance, including ballet, Irish dancing, flamenco, and bellydance. Her relentless pursuit of perfection, coupled with her natural talent and determination, has led her to become a renowned award-winning choreographer.

Throughout her illustrious career, Anjelica has had the privilege of traveling to numerous countries, including Spain, Malta, Ireland, Jordan, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean, where she has performed both solo and with her family-owned dance company, Ritmo Flamenco. Her impressive repertoire includes performances at prestigious events such as the Madrid Choreographic Competition and the Canadian Opera Company.

Anjelica's passion for the performing arts extends beyond dance, as she is also a skilled actress. She graduated from the esteemed Etobicoke School of the Arts, where she honed her craft in stage productions and plays. Her breakthrough in the industry came at the age of 17, when she landed her first commercial roles in Swiss Chalet and Scotiabank advertisements.

As she continued to refine her acting skills, Anjelica sought guidance from influential coaches such as Lewis Baumander, Bruce Clayton, Matthew Harrison, Shawn Lawrence, Catherine McNally, and Al Bernstein. Her comedic timing and improvisational abilities have led her to explore the world of stand-up comedy, where she currently performs in various clubs in Toronto and surrounding areas.

Anjelica's impressive resume includes appearances in film, television, and music videos, showcasing her versatility in a wide range of genres. Her notable roles include acting alongside Joe Jonas in the Disney movie "Camp Rock," appearing on the Family Channel's "Overruled," and serving as assistant choreographer for the film "How to be Indie." She has also worked with renowned director Reginald Harkema on the TIFF film "Manson, My Name is Evil," alongside Sarah Gadon.

In 2015, Anjelica starred in the CBC movie "Flamenco," which won the So You Think You Can Pitch award at the ReelAsian Film Festival two years prior. Her recent credits include appearances on "Satisfaction" (CTV),"Exhibitionists" (CBC),and "Rogue" (The Movie Network),alongside Cole Hauser.
