Her mother, Rita Markovits, hails from a rich cultural heritage, being of Jewish Romanian and Hungarian descent, while her father, Tom Hopkins, has Scottish and Welsh roots. Her feature film debut was in the critically acclaimed movie "Barney's Version," opposite the talented Paul Giamatti.
