Biography

Arturo Luís Soria is a multifaceted individual, boasting a rich cultural heritage stemming from his family's roots in Brazil, Italy, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic.

As a writer and actor, Soria has garnered widespread recognition for his solo play, Ni Mi Madre, which received the prestigious Luso-American Scholarship at the DisQuiet International Literary Program in Lisbon, Portugal. Under the guidance of the renowned Portuguese-American writer Katherine Vaz, Soria honed his craft, and his play went on to enjoy successful runs at the Yale Cabaret in 2018 and the Ken Davenport's inaugural Rave Theatre Festival in the summer of 2019 in NYC. Notably, he received an Outstanding Performance recognition for his impressive portrayal.

Currently, Soria is taking the stage by storm as he performs on Broadway in The Inheritance, a production directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin, and written by Matthew Lopez.

Throughout his illustrious career, Soria has accumulated an impressive array of credits, including his captivating performance as Tano in the World Premiere of Hit the Wall at Steppenwolf Garage Theatre and off-Broadway at the Barrow Street Theatre. Hilton Als of The New Yorker drew comparisons to "a young Al Pacino" for his striking portrayal.

Regionally, Soria has had the privilege of performing at esteemed institutions such as The Kennedy Center, Yale Rep, The Guthrie Theater, Dallas Theater Center, Victory Gardens Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Milwaukee Rep, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Studio Theatre, and numerous others.

Soria holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The Theatre School at DePaul University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama.
