Atoosa Pour Hosseini, a multifaceted artist-filmmaker, was born in 1981 in Tehran, Iran, and is currently based in Dublin, Ireland.
Pour Hosseini's creative endeavors, heavily influenced by historical avant-garde cinema, delve into the realms of illusion, reality, and perception, traversing mediums such as film, video, installation, and performance art.
Through her work, she masterfully manipulates the tactile textures of 8mm film, juxtaposing them with digital processes to create intricate patterns of repetition, punctuated by startling interruptions.
Educationally, Pour Hosseini holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art Media from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art Painting from the prestigious Azad University of Art and Architecture in Tehran.
Throughout her career, she has garnered recognition and accolades from esteemed institutions, including the Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Council, Culture Ireland, and Temple Bar Gallery and Studios.
