W. Axl Rose, the quintessential embodiment of decadent late 1980s rockerdom, was born and raised in the city of Lafayette, Indiana. His early life was marked by a tumultuous household, where he was molested by his own father at the tender age of two and subsequently beaten by his abusive stepfather.
As a 17-year-old, Axl fled his hometown on a Greyhound bus, bound for the city of angels, Los Angeles, which would become his haven for indulging in sinful and rebellious tendencies. Prior to joining the seminal rock band L.A. Guns, Axl auditioned for numerous punk bands, many of which rejected him due to his uncanny vocal resemblance to the legendary Robert Plant.
After a stint with L.A. Guns, Axl went on to form the iconic rock band Guns N' Roses, which would soon meet with unprecedented success upon the release of their debut album "Appetite For Destruction". The band's massive stadium tours cemented Axl's status as a bona fide sex symbol, but internal conflicts and heavy drug use among the band members ultimately led to their decline.
For years, Guns N' Roses remained an obsolete entity, until recent rumors of a potential comeback began to surface. Only time will tell if Axl and his bandmates will reunite to revive their former glory or continue to tread the path of nostalgia.
