Benja Bruijning, born in 1983, achieved widespread recognition with his starring role in the Dutch romantic comedy Family Way (2012),opposite the talented Carice van Houten, best known for her role in Game of Thrones.
From a young age, Benja has showcased his acting talents in various films and television series, including The Cave and Poet on the Zeedijk. Upon graduating from the Academy of Dramatic and Performing Arts in Amsterdam in 2008, he landed roles in several popular Dutch TV series and films.
Benja has become a household name in the Netherlands, starring in box office hits such as the romantic comedies Street of Hearts and Gift from the Heart. He also plays one of the lead roles in the critically acclaimed show Fighter's Heart, about K1 fighters, which has been picked up for a second season and is the Dutch submission for the International Emmy Awards.
In addition to his work on screen, Benja is also an accomplished stage actor. He has played lead roles in the Dutch stage adaptations of Rain Man, Much Ado About Nothing, Monsters, and Lulu, and even wrote and performed in a play called Not Meant That Way.
Recent projects have included a lead role in two seasons of the TV series Black Tulip, the Dutch feature film The Fury (De Helleveeg),and the television film The Return of the Honey Buzzard.
In 2017, Benja took on the lead role in TV series Dr. Anne's Men and the second season of Fighter's Heart, further solidifying his position as a talented and versatile actor in the Dutch entertainment industry.
