His extensive repertoire includes numerous productions with Repertory Philippines, as well as critically acclaimed roles in Tagalog for Tanghalang Pilipino.
Notably, he won the coveted Best Actor award for his portrayal of Manay in Ishmael Bernal's City After Dark, Manila by Night (1980). However, it was his iconic role as Steve Carpio in the long-running ABS-CBN Channel 2 sitcom, "Home Along da Riles", opposite the incomparable Dolphy, that catapulted him to widespread popularity.
