William Scott Goldberg, widely recognized by his ring name Goldberg, is a multifaceted American professional wrestler, actor, and former American football player. His impressive career has been marked by his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
Goldberg is often regarded as one of the most prominent figures of the late 1990s and early 2000s professional wrestling boom. He is credited with inventing the spear finishing move in wrestling and is renowned for popularizing and executing it with unparalleled skill. Goldberg's rise to fame in WCW was meteoric, with a remarkable undefeated streak in singles competition spanning from 1997 to 1998.
During his tenure with WCW, Goldberg achieved numerous accolades, including becoming a one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, a two-time WCW United States Heavyweight Champion, and a one-time WCW World Tag Team Champion, partnering with the legendary Bret Hart. Alongside Hart, Goldberg is the fifth WCW Triple Crown winner.
Following WCW's closure in 2001, Goldberg went on to wrestle for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) between 2002 and 2003, and later for WWE between 2003 and 2004. During his stint with WWE, he became a one-time World Heavyweight Champion.
