As a director and writer, he has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema, with his most notable works including the critically acclaimed "Pelle the Conqueror" (1987),the visually stunning "The House of the Spirits" (1993),and the poignant "Goodbye Bafana" (2007). Throughout his illustrious career, August has been fortunate enough to share his life with several remarkable women, including his current wife, Sara-Marie Maltha.
