Bobbie Bresee, a ravishing blonde actress, had a tantalizingly brief stint as a scream queen, captivating audiences with her presence in a handful of delightfully trashy 80s low-budget horror films.
Born in 1942 in Moscow, Idaho, Bobbie's life took a poignant turn when her father, a U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant, was tragically killed in Guadalcanal during the Shelling of Henderson Field just a month after her birth. Her mother remarried another Marine, Walter Richard Bartosh, in 1945, and he adopted Bobbie, with the couple remaining married until Walter's passing in 2014. Bobbie's half-sister, Sharon Lee Bartosh, was born in 1947.
Prior to pursuing an acting career, Bobbie attended the University of Idaho, taught music, and even worked as a "Playboy" Bunny.
Bobbie's impressive performance as a sweet and lovely young woman possessed by an evil, sexually voracious demon in the 1983 film Mausoleum earned her a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actress. She also showcased her comedic talents as Smeg's mom in the crudely amusing Surf Nazis Must Die (1987) and delivered a memorably sexy performance as a lethal temptress in the 1984 film Ghoulies.
Bobbie took on a semi-autobiographical starring role as a faded, aging B-movie starlet who transforms into a murderous, humanoid insect monster after taking an experimental youthful serum in the delightfully dreadful Evil Spawn (1987).
In addition to her film work, Bobbie made guest appearances on several TV shows, including Charlie's Angels (1976),B.J. and the Bear (1978),The Love Boat (1977),Simon & Simon (1981),and The Fall Guy (1981). She also had a recurring role on the daytime soap opera Santa Barbara (1984).
