Brandon Richard Flowers, the youngest of six children, was born on June 21, 1981, in the vibrant city of Las Vegas. Growing up in the small town of Nephi, Utah, his best chance to explore the world of music was through the cassettes gifted to him by his older brother, Shane. As he progressed through his junior year in high school, the Flowers family made a significant move back to Las Vegas, where Brandon's musical endeavors began to take shape.
During his time in Las Vegas, Brandon engaged in various keyboard bands as side hobbies, with one notable exception being the failed band Blush Response. To make ends meet, he worked as a bellhop at the prestigious Gold Coast and Caesar's Palace hotels. However, it was in 2002 that a life-changing event took place, as Brandon attended an Oasis concert, which inspired him to dedicate his musical career to a full-fledged rock band.
Later that year, Brandon responded to a scouting ad published in a local Vegas newspaper, which led him to collaborate with Dave Keuning. The two began writing songs almost immediately, and their partnership would soon yield fruitful results. Enter Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci, long-time admirers of Brandon and Dave's early efforts, who struck up a friendship with the aspiring rockers and completed the musical quartet that would bring new-found glory to Las Vegas: the Killers.
The rest, as they say, is history.
