Biography

Brian earned his undergraduate degree in film from Northwestern University, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in directing from the prestigious American Film Institute. During his time at the American Film Institute, he was honored with the Director of the Year award. His thesis film, "Family Attraction", starring the late Chris Penn and Martin Sheen, garnered an impressive dozen national and international film festival awards, and was handpicked by Apple to be one of the first ten shorts featured on iTunes when they launched their short film category.

Following his graduation, Brian developed screenplays for notable studios such as Miramax, MGM, and Universal. He then ventured into writing and directing his first independent feature film, "Bart Got a Room", which boasted an impressive cast including William H. Macy, Cheryl Hines, and Alia Shawkat.

In collaboration with his writing partner Craig Sherman, Brian was selected by Grant Heslov and George Clooney to pen The Smothers Brothers biopic for Sony Pictures. Most recently, their Blacklist script, which revolves around the fascinating story of Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari and a pioneer of the video game revolution, was reacquired from Paramount Pictures by independent producers JD Seraphine and Benjamin Gerry. Leonardo DiCaprio remains attached as producer, with Brian set to direct this highly anticipated project.
