Christopher Dempsey, a seasoned actor with a rich background in both stage and screen, hails from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he spent his formative years alongside his family in Santa Fe. As a young man, he began his acting career on the stage at The Santa Fe Playhouse in the late 1970s, eventually attending The American Academy of Dramatic Arts West to hone his craft.
Prior to returning to acting, Christopher gained valuable industry insight by working behind the camera, taking on various roles such as Producer, Director, Assistant Director, Production/Art Designer, Production Coordinator, Property Master, Boom Operator, and multiple PA gigs. This multifaceted experience has equipped him with a unique understanding of the production process.
However, Christopher's true passion lies in acting, and he eventually returned to the spotlight. In 2006, he relocated to New Mexico, where he has since appeared in numerous film and television productions, including the critically acclaimed AMC series "Breaking Bad" and the feature film "Sunshine Cleaning".
Born Christopher Velasquez, Christopher was adopted by his step-father and chose to adopt the surname Dempsey. He has also served his country as a Combat Medical Specialist in the United States Army Reserve and as a member of the Los Angeles Police Department for almost five years. These experiences have not only provided him with a wealth of personal stories but have also granted him a deeper understanding of the human condition.
