Born and raised in the heart of Texas and the Bluegrass State of Kentucky, this individual was blessed to have a father who was a dedicated doctor and a mother who was a pillar of support. Her upbringing was marked by a strong sense of family values and a deep appreciation for the importance of a good education.
With a keen interest in the arts, she decided to pursue a degree in landscape architecture at Purdue University. However, her passion for the dramatic arts soon took center stage, and she made the bold decision to switch her major to drama.
After completing her studies, she relocated to Nashville to be closer to her family. But her wanderlust soon got the better of her, and she packed her bags once again, this time heading to the City of Angels, Los Angeles, in 1982. It was during this time that she enrolled at the prestigious Strasburg Institute, where she honed her skills and refined her craft.
As she navigated the competitive world of entertainment, she landed a job as a receptionist at a commercials production company. However, her natural talent and work ethic soon caught the attention of her employers, and she was promoted to the position of music video production assistant.
It was during this time that she began working on a project that would eventually become a cinematic masterpiece, the iconic film Thelma & Louise (1991). With determination and dedication, she wrote the script in longhand at home and then retyped it on the job, pouring her heart and soul into every word.
