Cari Shayne's illustrious career spans multiple decades, with a diverse range of roles in television pilots, series, feature films, and made-for-TV-movies. Her journey began as a teenager, when she landed the role of Karen Wexler on the iconic daytime drama General Hospital in 1963. This early success paved the way for her transition to prime-time television, where she recurred as Neve Campbell's best friend on the hit Fox series Party of Five in 1994.
Shayne's impressive resume includes a number of made-for-television movies, such as Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge in 1995, where she portrayed the life of the young country music sensation, Naomi Judd. She also starred alongside Thomas Gibson, Meredith Baxter, and Tom Conti as the lead character in Louisa May Alcott's The Inheritance in 1997, as well as in the western classic Shaughnessy in 1996, alongside Sarah Paulson.
The Price of Heaven, directed by Peter Bogdanovich, featured Shayne alongside Grant Show and the incomparable Cicely Tyson in 1997. Her extensive television credits include guest-starring and recurring roles on a wide range of shows, such as Cold Case in 2003, The Division in 2001, Star Trek: Voyager in 1995, Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1990, and many more.
Shayne has also appeared in television pilots, including Forbidden Island in 1999 and "Dope". After taking a break from acting to explore the medical field, she enrolled in nursing school and trained at LA County USC Medical Center before becoming a high-risk Obstetrical Nurse.
After an 11-year hiatus, Shayne returned to her television roots as Dr. Genevieve Cates in the Emmy Award-winning series The Bay on Amazon, and recently made an appearance as Jack and Rebecca's maternity nurse in This is Us.
