Carl Marino was born and raised in the city of Hornell, located in upstate New York, to parents Carl and Carol Marino. He was the only boy among four siblings, and this unique dynamic likely played a significant role in shaping his personality and worldview.
After completing his high school education, Carl attended the prestigious United States Military Academy at West Point for two years, where he likely developed a strong sense of discipline and a deep understanding of the importance of hard work and dedication.
Following his time at West Point, Carl pursued a degree in Criminal Justice at the Rochester Institute of Technology. It was during this period that he began his career as a law enforcement officer, serving as a Deputy Sheriff in New York for nearly 17 years. This experience not only honed his skills as a detective but also provided him with a unique perspective on the criminal justice system.
In addition to his work as a law enforcement officer, Carl also pursued a career in modeling, signing with a modeling company in New York and working on various print and commercial projects. This experience likely helped him develop his confidence and poise in front of the camera.
After serving as a Deputy Sheriff and pursuing a career in modeling, Carl made the difficult decision to relocate to California, where he could be closer to some of his family members who had already made the move. It was during this period that he signed with a modeling agency and began to audition for film and television roles.
Carl's big break came when he was cast in the independent film Sedona's Rule in 2010. This role marked the beginning of his journey as a professional actor, and he soon found himself working on numerous feature films, network and cable television shows, and national commercials.
One of Carl's most notable roles to date is his portrayal of Detective Lt. Joe Kenda on the Investigation Discovery hit TV show Homicide Hunter, which he played for seven seasons. This role not only showcased his acting abilities but also allowed him to share his passion for true crime stories with a wide audience.
Today, Carl Marino lives in San Francisco and works between this city, Los Angeles, New York, and the Southeast. He is married to Ilona Marino and has two adult children from a previous marriage. Despite his many accomplishments, Carl remains humble and dedicated to his craft, continually seeking out new and challenging roles that allow him to grow as an actor and a person.
