His academic pursuits took him to Pacific Lutheran University, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre, graduating with honours and distinction.
In addition to his university education, Carl also had the opportunity to further hone his craft by studying contemporary and Shakespearean theatre in the esteemed city of London, England. This enriching experience undoubtedly had a profound impact on his artistic development.
Upon completing his academic journey, Carl relocated to the vibrant city of Los Angeles, where he became an alumnus of the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade. His dedication to his craft also led him to study at iO West, Groundlings, Second City, and reputable scene study classes, thereby expanding his skills and versatility as a performer.
