Carter Ryan, a talented young actor, was born on September 8, 2006, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Dorlyn and Carol Evancic. He has an older sister, Vanessa Rae Evancic, who initially sparked his interest in acting. At just eight months old, Carter began commercial auditions and quickly booked his first commercial. However, it wasn't until he turned seven that he decided to pursue acting more seriously.
Within a year, Carter landed his first leading role in a feature film, "Her Infidelity" (2015),where he played the son of supermodel/actress Rachel Hunter. He also made appearances in popular TV shows such as "Man in the High Castle," "Impastor," and "Travellers." Carter's breakout role came when he joined the cast of "When Calls the Heart" as Cody, a character he portrayed for four seasons.
Working closely with a talented ensemble cast, including Lori Loughlin, Jack Wagner, Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, Pascale Hutton, and Kavan Smith, Carter's performance earned him widespread recognition. In 2021, his role as Cody was reprised in the spin-off series "When Hope Calls," which premiered its second season.
Throughout his career, Carter has received numerous accolades for his portrayal of Cody, including six nominations and four wins. He won the Young Entertainer Award for Best Recurring Young Actor 10 & Under - TV Series in 2017, the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series - Recurring Young Actor in 2017, and The Joey Awards for Best Ensemble in a TV Series in both 2016 and 2018.
When Carter is not working on his acting projects or training, he enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and dog, Baxter. He is an avid outdoorsman, often engaging in activities such as biking, hiking, and playing sports like box lacrosse, basketball, and track and field.
