Born in the vibrant and eclectic neighborhood of The Bronx, New York, I was fortunate enough to spend my formative years in the stunningly beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Every summer, my family would lovingly send me back to New York, where I would spend my vacations soaking up the city's energy and excitement. As a young student, I discovered that performing in school events was a fantastic way to gain attention and build confidence. However, it wasn't until I was just nine years old that the acting bug truly bit me, when I watched James Cagney's mesmerizing portrayal of Lon Chaney Sr. in the film Man of A Thousand Faces.
As I grew older, my passion for acting only intensified, and by the age of thirteen, I had devoured a vast array of famous American plays, earning me the nickname "Theater Brat." In the mid-1980s, I had the incredible opportunity to study Advanced Scene Study at the renowned American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, which was a truly defining artistic moment for me. As I delved deeper into the world of theater, I discovered that my interests extended far beyond just acting. I became fascinated by the craft of directing, set construction, and lighting design, and I began to explore these aspects of the theater.
Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I was immersed in the theater world, participating in over 50 theatrical performances. As I entered adulthood, I made the leap into the film industry, making my debut in the award-winning short film Test Day, directed by the talented David Fabelo, in 2005. Around the same time, I was represented by the esteemed Acclaim Talent agency from Austin, Texas, a relationship that has continued to this day.
As an artist, I am deeply inspired by the works of Tennessee Williams, Christopher Durang, Milos Forman, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Montgomery Clift, Orson Welles, and Marlon Brando, among many others. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, and I am passionate about using my platform to raise awareness about important issues such as animal rights and environmental conservation.
