Biography

Aluri Chakrapani, born Aluri Venkata Subbarao on August 5, 1908, was a multifaceted Indian film industry professional who left an indelible mark on the world of cinema.

Throughout his illustrious career, Chakrapani excelled as a producer, writer, and director, primarily working in the Telugu film industry, where he garnered widespread recognition and accolades.

One of the most notable achievements in his illustrious career was the receipt of two prestigious Filmfare Awards for his outstanding contributions to Telugu cinema.

Chakrapani's professional journey was closely intertwined with Vijaya Vauhini Studios, one of the largest and most renowned studios in Asia at the time.

As a prolific filmmaker, Chakrapani ventured into the realm of cinema, creating films in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Odia, and Hindi.

In addition to his cinematic endeavors, Chakrapani was also a partner in Vijaya Productions, a joint venture with the esteemed B. Nagi Reddy.

Furthermore, he co-founded the iconic children's magazine, Chandamama, which has been a beloved and cherished part of Indian culture for generations.
