Chloe Traicos, a Zimbabwean-born filmmaker, was raised in her native country surrounded by a rich cultural heritage. Her father, John Traicos, is an international cricket star, while her mother, Annette Kileff, is a talented artist. Growing up in Zimbabwe, Chloe was deeply affected by the political turmoil and human rights abuses that plagued the country, particularly under the leadership of Robert Mugabe.
In 2005, Chloe's life took a dramatic turn when she was forced to flee Zimbabwe after creating a documentary that spoke out against the regime's atrocities. Titled "A Stranger in my Homeland," the film humanized the struggles of the Zimbabwean people and shone a light on the persecution and starvation they endured. Despite the challenges she faced, Chloe's documentary went on to receive international recognition, winning numerous awards worldwide.
Chloe and her family subsequently immigrated to Australia, where she continued to pursue her passion for filmmaking. In Australia, she created the award-winning indie film "I Wish I Were Stephanie V," which premiered at the prestigious New York City International Film Festival in 2011, with a special outdoor screening in Times Square. This accomplishment marked a significant milestone in Chloe's career, solidifying her reputation as a talented and courageous filmmaker.
In recent years, Chloe has relocated to the United States, where she continues to create films that inspire and educate audiences.
