Christina Applegate's early life was marked by her parents' separation shortly after her birth in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, to record producer/executive Robert Applegate and singer-actress Nancy Priddy.
Her father, Robert, would later remarry, resulting in the addition of two half-siblings to Christina's family: Alisa, born on October 10, 1977, and Kyle, born on July 15, 1981. Interestingly, Christina and Alisa have developed a particularly close bond, to the point where they even cohabited while Alisa pursued her college education.
Christina's mother, Nancy, played a significant role in her daughter's early career, often taking her along to auditions and acting jobs. In fact, Christina made her professional acting debut at just five months old, when her mother secured her a commercial role for Playtex nursers.
Despite her mother's decision not to remarry, Nancy did maintain a relationship with musician Stephen Stills, who would go on to gift Christina a guitar during her youth. This gesture has left a lasting impression on Christina, who still cherishes the instrument to this day.
Before landing her breakout role in the popular TV series Married... with Children in 1987, Christina appeared in a number of other television shows. Outside of her acting pursuits, Christina continues to study jazz dance, a passion that has remained with her throughout her life.
