Biography

Chris Olness is a Los Angeles-based writer/director, devoted to crafting intricate thrillers that seamlessly integrate underlying love stories for both film and television mediums.

With a diverse range of experience in studio, indie, and brand storytelling, Olness has had the privilege of working on numerous projects, including the Satin film, which was distributed by Warner Bros. and Showtime, as well as the Levis Brand film Coming Home, which premiered at the AFI FEST.

Olness' career in the entertainment industry began in the realm of visual effects, where he had the opportunity to work with the renowned George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) on a wide range of notable films, including the Star Wars, Mission Impossible, Men in Black, Twister, and Lost World - Jurassic Park franchises.

During his time at ILM, Olness was involved in the re-shoots of Star Wars, where he took on the unique role of a Stormtrooper, suitably clad in armor, and even had the chance to blast the Millennium Falcon.

Olness was also an esteemed American Film Institute (AFI) Directing Fellow, further solidifying his reputation as a talented and accomplished writer/director.

In addition to his impressive educational background, which includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Olness' ultimate goal is to inspire a diverse creative community of talented individuals to collaborate effectively and produce thrilling, high-quality stories that captivate audiences and enrich lives.
