Clint Carmichael is a multifaceted individual who has been entertaining audiences for over three decades as a working actor and award-winning filmmaker. A native of Los Angeles, Carmichael's passion for the performing arts was ignited during his time at San Francisco State University, where he was exposed to a production of "The Rivals" at the American Conservatory Theater.
This experience led him to pursue his dreams, and upon returning to Los Angeles, he began studying with renowned acting coach Milton Katselas at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. His acting career soon took off as he landed roles in commercials, episodic television, and film.
Carmichael's athletic background as a former competitive swimmer, lifeguard, and ski instructor also played a significant role in his career, as he was cast in many live stunt shows at Universal Studios Hollywood. He appeared in top-rated shows such as "The A-Team," "Miami Vice," "Conan," "Wild, Wild West," and "Terminator T-2" live shows, solidifying his relationships within the stunt community.
Equally at home on stage, Carmichael has appeared in numerous world premieres and critically acclaimed productions at the Hudson, Court, Matrix, and West Coast Ensemble theaters. As a member of the West Coast Ensemble for five years, he performed in main stage productions and participated in the writers' and directors' labs, developing original works for the stage and potential source material for film production.
Some of his notable stage appearances include the critically acclaimed world premiere of Christopher Hart's "Teeing Off," "The Precipice" alongside Sharon Lawrence, the world premiere of Ken Lippman's "Eddie Quinn," the West Coast Premiere of "Love & Anger" with Ian Buchanan, and the Matrix Theater production of "Johnny on the Spot" with Richard Burgi.
As a filmmaker, Carmichael's first effort as a producer, the supernatural teen thriller "The Open Door," received rave reviews and won the Audience Choice Award at the Shriekfest Film Festival. The film is currently in worldwide distribution through Phase4 Films (domestic) and Moving Pictures Film & TV (foreign) and can be purchased and/or downloaded everywhere films are sold or streamed.
His second project as producer, "The Action Hero's Guide To Saving Lives," is a laugh-out-loud action/comedy short film starring Patrick Warburton and won several awards, including Best Action/Adventure Short at the Comic-Con International Film Festival, Best Comedy Short at the CineGear Expo Film Series, Best Short at the World of Comedy Film Festival, Best-Of-Fest at the LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival, Best Comedy at the Hollyshorts Film Festival, Best-Of-Fest at the Foursite Film Festival, and Best Comedy at the Dragon Con Film Festival in Atlanta.
Due to the tremendous reception of "Action Hero," the filmmakers are working on developing it into a feature film. Carmichael has a number of other projects in development and will continue to work in front of as well as behind the camera.
