Cesar Eduardo Almeida de Souza, more commonly known as Coffin Souza, has been a multifaceted artist in the film industry since 1982, showcasing his talents as an actor, director, producer, and makeup artist for both videos and films.
Born in June 1962 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Souza has accumulated a wealth of experience in the realm of super-8 and video productions, having participated in over 15 feature films and numerous short films.
In addition to his work in film, Souza is also a co-author of the book "Manifesto Canibal" (2004, Achiamé Editora),written alongside Petter Baiestorf. He has also been heavily involved in the productions of Canibal Filmes (Santa Catarina) and Fábulas Negras (Espírito Santo).
As a director, Souza has helmed more than 20 short films, with a notable collection being "13 Strange Stories" (2015),which featured 12 other directors from the southern region of Brazil. He also reprised his role as an actor in the short film "Cinco Cálices" (2017),directed by Rubens Mello and Julio Wong, as part of the sequel "13 Strange Stories 2".
Souza's passion for the horror genre is evident in his numerous projects, including his blogs "She Demons Zine", which focuses on actresses in genre films, and the "Midnight Museum", dedicated to exploring the world of genre cinema.
