Colette was born in England, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in theatre. Her early career was marked by a series of productions at esteemed theatres across the country, including Exeter, Liverpool, Manchester, Oxford, and Plymouth. She then joined the New Vic Theatre in London, under the direction of renowned theatre director Michael Bogdanov, and embarked on a tour of England and the United States. This included a successful run Off-Broadway in "The Canterbury Tales" and "Dracula or a Pain in the Neck".
Colette's next notable role was as the lead in Alan Bleasdale's award-winning play "Are You Lonesome Tonight", opposite Martin Shaw, which she performed for over a year in London's West End. Her extensive film and television credits in the UK include leading roles in "1914 All Out" (Yorks. TV),"Wall of Tyranny" (Columbia Pictures),"Tears in the Rain" (Yorks TV),"Andy Capp" (Thames TV),and recurring roles in "All Creatures Great and Small" (BBC),"Brookside" (Mersey TV),and "Coronation Street" (Granada TV).
After relocating to Canada, Colette continued to work prolifically in film and television. Notable roles include the lead in "Promise the Moon" (CBC),opposite Henry Czerny, which earned her a Best Actress Gemini nomination, as well as "The Arrow" (CBC),opposite Dan Aykroyd, "Anne of Green Gable the Continuing Story" (CBC),and "Scales of Justice" (CBC). She also spent over a year playing the lead in 44 episodes of "Mysterious Island" (Alliance Ent).
In addition to her film and television work, Colette has made guest appearances on several popular series, including "Forever Knight", "Psi Factor", "Earth:Final Conflict", "Doc", "MythQuest", "The Fifth Quadrant", "Adventure Inc.", "Mutant X", "Tarzan", "Ken Finkleman's Newsroom", "This is Wonderland", "Transporter" (HBO),and had a leading role in the independent film "Burning, Burning".
