Born with the name Colin Chase Gollings, he was a private in B Company, 157th Infantry, enlisting on May 4, 1918, and being discharged on August 1, 1918.
After his military service, Gollings entered the motion picture industry in 1919 as an employee of the Thomas H. Ince Company. Despite being an uncredited contributor, he often played the role of a henchman in Poverty Row westerns.
It is worth noting that his real name, Colin Chase Gollings, is confirmed through various official documents, including his birth and death certificates, as well as his World War I service records.
Following his passing, Gollings was laid to rest at the Sawtelle National Cemetery, his final resting place.
