The Vanishing Riders background

The Vanishing Riders

A young boy, son of an outlaw, finds himself under the care of a sheriff, who takes him on a perilous journey to a haunted silver mining town, only to discover a familiar face and a mysterious ranch owner lurking in the shadows.

In the small town of a former silver boomtown, Sheriff Bill Jones, a widower, adopts the young son of an outlaw he has killed. When they arrive, they meet Hiram McDuff, a friend of Bill's, who is the only inhabitant of the town. Bill and his son Tim take on a new job at a ranch owned by Joan Stanley, whose father was killed by the gang of Wolf Larson. Unbeknownst to them, McDuff mistakenly hires the Larson gang as ranch hands, planning to steal the stock while Bill is away. However, Tim overhears the plot and informs his father, leading them to use creative tactics to outsmart the gang, including ghost makeup, skeleton sheets, and tricks to scare them away.
