Conroe Brooks, a talented individual, hails from San Jose, California, where his early life and upbringing took place. His journey in the entertainment industry began with a series of notable musical performances, including Bye Bye Birdie, Hello Dolly, and How To Succeed in Business. At the tender age of 18, he joined the R&B group Special Generation, which was subsequently discovered by the renowned M.C. Hammer. This significant breakthrough led him to relocate to Los Angeles, where he quickly caught the attention of the accomplished director and actor, Robert Townsend. Townsend subsequently cast Brooks in his debut television role, portraying the iconic figure of Sam Cooke in the biographical film Little Richard (2000).
