Daniel Levy is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in the entertainment industry as a showrunner, writer, actor, director, and producer. He has established himself as a prominent figure in Hollywood, telling vibrant and comedic stories that captivate audiences.
Levy recently founded his own film and television production company, Not a Real Production Company, which has already produced several projects. His latest series, The Big Brunch, premiered on HBO Max in November 2022, and he not only created the show but also hosts and serves as a judge alongside Chef Sohla El-Waylly and restaurateur Will Guidara.
In addition to his work on The Big Brunch, Levy has several other projects in various stages of development, including an adult animated comedy Standing By for Hulu, which he co-created with Ally Pankiw. Levy has appeared in several other projects, including Hulu's holiday rom-com Happiest Season and HBO's Coastal Elite. He made his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live in February 2021.
Levy is best known for his work on the beloved show Schitt's Creek, which he co-created with his father Eugene Levy. The series received nine Emmy wins for its sixth and final season, breaking major records and earning numerous awards and nominations.
Levy has received numerous accolades for his work, including several Emmy nominations, a TCA Award nomination, and a GLAAD Media Award win. He was also recognized as one of the Grand Marshals for NYC Pride 2020.
Before his success with Schitt's Creek, Levy began his television career co-hosting MTV Canada's flagship show MTV Live and later co-wrote, co-hosted, and co-produced the critically-acclaimed ratings hit The After Show and its various incarnations. He also wrote, produced, and starred in his own Christmas special for MTV, Daniel Levy's Holi-Do's & Don'ts, and has made guest appearances on Modern Family and other shows.
