Darren Bailey Stichtenoth, also known as Darren, was born with the surname pronounced as 'tick-ten-oat', which he dropped upon entering the professional acting world.
His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Miami University. Darren's passion for film acting began during his childhood, and he joined a student-run film organization called M.A.F.I.A. (Miami Association of Filmmakers and Independent Artists) founded by A.J. Rickert-Epstein.
In 2008, Darren relocated to California to pursue a career in acting. In 2010, he co-founded the martial arts production team Thousand Pounds Action Company with Vonzell Carter and Christopher Clark Cowan. The company gained immense popularity through YouTube, primarily with their videos based on Street Fighter and Naruto, before disbanding in 2012.
Apart from acting, Darren now frequently engages in various roles, including writing, stunt performing, stunt coordination, education, motion and performance capture artistry, and horror film production.
