Biography

David, a Native American of the Miami and Peoria tribes, occupied a prominent role as an educator at the College of American Indian situated near Lawrence, Kansas, during the early 1970s, where he was responsible for imparting valuable knowledge to his students.

Concurrently, David's personal life was filled with romantic undertones as he was engaged in a passionate relationship with his fellow acting student, Lynna, during the initial years of the 1970s, a period marked by youthful energy and creative aspirations.

As a Native American educator, David's work at the College of American Indian was instrumental in promoting cultural understanding and preserving the rich heritage of his ancestors, while his romantic involvement with Lynna added a layer of emotional depth to his life during this pivotal period in the early 1970s.

David's acting career experienced a significant surge in popularity, marked by a memorable performance as the nefarious Evil German Butler/Henchman on the now-defunct daytime soap opera "The Edge of Night", a role he held from 1979 to 1980.

David, a graduate student of notable distinction, exhibited extraordinary aptitude for direction during his academic tenure, as he skillfully guided the then 18-year-old Mandy Patinkin through the complex and thought-provoking play "Indians" penned by the renowned playwright Arthur Kopit.

Within this production, David displayed his innovative flair for storytelling by entrusting Mandy with not one, not two, but three distinct roles, thereby showcasing his remarkable ability to push the boundaries of creative expression and bring out the best in his actors.

David's persona was distinguished by his peculiar brand of wit, which frequently presented itself in his manner of humor, often rendering him the center of attention with his quick-witted remarks and clever comebacks. One of his most notable eccentricities was his decision to grow a beard, an endeavor he claimed was undertaken to demonstrate the possibility of such a feat and thereby debunk the prevailing myth that Native Americans were, in fact, incapable of cultivating a beard.
