Biography

Dawn Nickerson Fox, a talented performer, embarked on her professional journey in the entertainment industry at the tender age of 13. Her early start led her to make her stage debut in Jerome Kern's off-Broadway production of "Leave It To Jane" in 1960, where she captivated audiences with her portrayal of the character "Cori". The notable director duo, Garson Kanin and Ruth Gordon, took notice of her impressive performance and extended an invitation for her to audition for the iconic musical "Do Re Mi". Initially, Dawn began as the understudy to the ingenue lead but eventually took over the role at the 54th Street Theatre, further solidifying her position in the industry.

In addition to her impressive Broadway credits, Dawn also made a name for herself in the off-Broadway scene, starring in productions such as "Light As A Feather" and "Riverwind" in 1962, where she took on the leading role of Jenny. Her remarkable performance in "Riverwind" caught the attention of casting directors, leading to a screen test for the new TV series "Harry's Girls" in 1963. Amidst a pool of hundreds of aspiring actresses, Dawn emerged victorious, landing the role of Lois. Her guest appearance on the popular TV show "Route 66" marked a pivotal moment in her career, as it was during this time that she met her future husband and decided to retire from the spotlight, dedicating her life to her family.

Although Dawn did make a brief return to local television and regional theatre in the 1970s, she chose not to pursue a full-scale comeback, opting instead to focus on her personal life.
