Dee Dee, a first-generation American, was born to Caribbean parents and raised in the vibrant city of San Jose, California. Her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, marked the beginning of her entrepreneurial journey as she co-founded MaStep LLC, a production company that allowed her to showcase her multifaceted talents. As the company's driving force, Dee Dee produced, directed, and hosted two programs, "Dee Dee's Blog Spot" and "The Maleena Lawrence Show," which further solidified her presence in the entertainment industry. Additionally, she had the opportunity to sing with the renowned Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, which won a Grammy Award, an experience that undoubtedly influenced her artistic growth.
As her passion for acting grew, Dee Dee made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where she was accepted into the prestigious Master's in Acting program at the University of Southern California. Over the course of three years, she transformed from a novice with no formal actor training to landing leading roles in two out of the three repertory plays, a testament to her dedication and perseverance.
Since graduating, Dee Dee has continued to work on a diverse range of projects, both on stage and in front of the camera, consistently pushing the boundaries of her craft and solidifying her status as a talented and versatile performer.
