Born in the year 1973, in the city of Hannover, Germany, Dennis Gansel embarked on a journey to hone his craft by enrolling in the prestigious Munich Film School, known as the HFF. What's even more impressive is that his debut feature-length film, "Das Phantom", was successfully shot while he was still a student, showcasing his remarkable talent and dedication to his craft.
Following the release of his first film, Gansel went on to direct several other movies, including "Girls on Top" in 2001, "Before the Fall" in 2004, and "The Wave" in 2008. However, during this period, he faced significant challenges in securing the necessary budget for his films, which led him to spend a considerable amount of time seeking financial support.
To make ends meet, Gansel turned to commercial directing, where he gained valuable experience and continued to hone his skills. Despite the obstacles he faced, Gansel persevered and remained committed to his passion for filmmaking.
