Derek Frey is a highly accomplished and dedicated filmmaker with over twenty years of experience in the film industry. With a diverse range of skills, including directing, editing, and cinematography, he has worked on numerous award-winning independent projects as well as major studio films.
Throughout his career, Frey has had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned talent in the industry, both in front and behind the camera. He has been an integral part of various filmmaking teams, contributing to the development, pre-production, post-production, and release of several blockbuster projects.
Recently, Frey has been involved in the production of Zero, an action-adventure-comedy for Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, as well as Toto, an animated musical retelling of The Wizard of Oz from the perspective of Dorothy's loyal dog.
Frey has also worked on a number of notable projects, including Aliens: Expanded, In Search of Tomorrow, Dumbo, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Big Eyes, and Frankenweenie, among others. His films have earned over $2.9 billion at the box office.
In addition to his work in film, Frey has also directed and produced numerous indie featurettes, shorts, series, documentaries, and music videos that have achieved success on the film festival circuit. Some of his notable works include Viaticum, The Book Club for Men, Awkward Endeavors, Pangea, and God Came 'Round.
