Born and raised in the sun-kissed metropolis of Los Angeles, California, Derek made the bold decision to relocate to the Big Apple, drawn by the allure of the esteemed Circle in the Square Theatre School, where he honed his craft under the guidance of esteemed instructors.
In addition to his training at the Circle in the Square Theatre School, Derek also had the privilege of studying with the illustrious director and teacher, Terry Schreiber, at T. Schreiber Studios, further refining his skills and artistic vision.
Throughout his career, Derek has had the opportunity to take on leading roles in a diverse range of mediums, including film, television, and stage productions.
As a writer, Derek has demonstrated his versatility by penning two screenplays, original television pilots, numerous short films, a web series, and even a series of children's books.
Currently, Derek is working on adapting his children's book series into a novel, a testament to his dedication to his craft and his boundless creative energy.
