Don Gallagher was born on December 7th, 1957, in the charming town of Selkirk, nestled in the picturesque Scottish Borders. He would later relocate to the vibrant city of London to pursue his passion for acting, enrolling in an acting degree program at the esteemed Royal Holloway College, part of the University of London, where he graduated in the late 1970s.
Gallagher made his television debut in 1984, appearing in the popular series "Shine On Harvey Moon". Throughout his illustrious career, he has had the privilege of performing on numerous stages, including the iconic National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. However, it's his love for musicals that has truly set his heart ablaze.
On the West End stage, Gallagher has brought his talents to life as the charismatic De Bris in "The Producers", the stalwart Javert in "Les Miserables", and, in a role that showcases his impressive physical presence, the imposing transsexual Bernadette in "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert", standing at an impressive six feet tall.
