Douglas, the third of five brothers, grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where the urban landscape served as a constant source of inspiration. As a young child, he was captivated by the enchanting world of black and white films, mesmerized by the timeless classics that told stories of love, loss, and triumph. The electrifying energy of live stage performances also left an indelible mark on his young mind, as he sat in awe, watching the actors bring characters to life before his very eyes. His fascination with the art of storytelling, in fact, preceded his ability to read, demonstrating an innate passion for the craft that would only continue to grow as he matured. With a burning desire to work in the very heart of Hollywood, Douglas embarked on a cross-country journey after high school, leaving behind the familiar comforts of his childhood home to pursue his dream of becoming a filmmaker, driven by an unwavering dedication to bringing his creative vision to the big screen.
Throughout the entirety of his remarkable odyssey, Douglas was incredibly fortunate to have had the invaluable guidance of the illustrious and renowned faith-based filmmakers, Wes and Amanda Lewellyn, who graciously took him under their wing and generously shared their vast wealth of expertise.
Douglas has garnered widespread recognition for his remarkable versatility as a filmmaker, having successfully taken on the roles of director, cinematographer, and editor for not one, but two, full-length feature films.
His latest and most ambitious project to date is set to make its grand debut in theaters across the country on March 3, 2022, thanks to Fathom Events.
