Elester Latham's illustrious career in theatre and film spans over four decades, with a rich and varied background that began after his tour of duty in Vietnam as a United States Marine. Following his military service, he pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre and Aerospace.
Subsequently, he rejoined the military as a pilot and continued to hone his acting skills, performing in numerous plays and movies while on active duty. After his retirement from the Air Force, he joined United Airlines as a transcontinental pilot, where he spent 23 years and made a name for himself as a talented performer. During his tenure, he appeared in 25 pilot training videos and served as the United Airlines spokesperson for a global commercial campaign, showcased in theaters and television worldwide.
In 1997, he took a leave of absence to pursue his passion for acting, earning his Screen Actors Guild membership by playing the role of Major Bridges, the Navigator, in Wolfgang Petersen's blockbuster film "Air Force One," opposite esteemed actors Harrison Ford, William H. Macy, and Gary Oldman.
Elester Latham returned to his first love, acting, in 2013, relocating to Los Angeles to focus on his craft. He quickly racked up an impressive array of credits, including small roles in "Ted 2" and "Gone Girl," as well as a featured appearance in the short film "Court Of Conscience," starring Jon Voight.
In 2016, he continued to build his repertoire, with highlights including a public service announcement directed by Joss Whedon, a portrayal of civil rights leader Roy Wilkins in the Tony-award winning play "All The Way" at Theatre Squared, a starring role in the short film "Lucifer," selected for the Cannes Film Festival, and a supporting role as a San Quentin guard in the Lifetime TV movie "The Night Stalker," directed by Megan Griffiths and starring Lou Diamond Phillips and Bellamy Young.
Elester Latham's projects for 2017 are equally impressive, featuring a starring role in the feature-length film "The Forgiven," the short film "Glimpse," and another short film debuting at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as a new video titled "Agenda" with the legendary rapper Locksmith, and a performance in "Kevin Hart's Guide To Black History."
