Elizabeth Gorcey has dedicated her life to the pursuit of captivating art, compelling stories, and amplifying authentic voices that demand to be heard. Throughout her personal and professional endeavors, she has explored various creative outlets to satiate her boundless energy, focusing on those passions that enable her to entertain, support, explore, and nourish. With a diverse range of pursuits including acting, directing, producing, painting, and working in documentary, narrative, and multi-media, Gorcey has unwaveringly followed her instincts to become a multifaceted creative force to be reckoned with. Her genuine, creative imperative is rooted in the notion that "Creating is nourishment for my soul."
Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, Gorcey was drawn to the creative arts from an early age, initially drawn to acting for film and television. She performed in notable productions such as Footloose, Teen Wolf, Highway to Heaven, Max Headroom, and Beauty & The Beast, among others. As she continued to navigate her career, Gorcey discovered another passion - working behind the scenes as a director, producer, and editor in the world of traditional documentary.
Like any true artist, Gorcey boldly transitioned into this new journey, shedding light on underserved individuals and stories. Her documentary directorial debut, Adopting Ginny, won numerous awards on the festival circuit and was featured on CNN. She subsequently produced The Actor's Life, a documentary directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Chuck Workman, and directed and produced How Old Is Old?, a poignant exploration of society's view of aging featuring Judge Judy, Tony Curtis, Doris Roberts, and Tony Bennett. Gorcey made her narrative directing debut with the award-winning short film Breast Pump & Blender, which won accolades and was picked up for distribution. She also directed Doris Roberts and Ron Glass in Just Another Man's Story and produced and directed Quit, starring Justina Machado.
Gorcey insists that her artistic and production abilities be utilized to give back to her community and the world at large. Throughout her lifetime, she has devoted herself to organizing, raising funds, and bringing awareness to non-profit organizations like CARING STROKES, her own non-profit art program for terminally ill children. Gorcey recognizes that we can all learn from the fresh perspective of a child how to have fun, help others, and love life.
