Emir Hadzihafisbegovic, a renowned actor, was born on August 20th, 1961, in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He pursued his passion for acting at the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, graduating in 1986.
After completing his studies, he joined the Folk Theater in Tuzla, where he honed his craft from 1989 to 1992. However, his career was interrupted by the devastating war years, during which he served in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) and the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) from 1991 to 1995.
Following the war, Emir resumed his acting career, taking on more than 80 roles in theater and television productions. He has been working as a theatre, television, and film actor ever since.
In addition to his acting pursuits, Emir has also dedicated himself to teaching. From 1998 to 2005, he served as a professor of acting at the Academy of Drama Arts in Tuzla. Later, from 2007 to 2011, he held the position of Minister of Sport and Culture of Sarajevo Canton.
As a member of the Bosniak nationalist Party of Democratic Action (SDA),Emir is deeply committed to his community. He currently resides in both Sarajevo and Tuzla, and is married with two children.
