Emma Dumont, a talented individual with a multifaceted personality, has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. Born in Seattle, Washington, Dumont's love for the arts began at a young age. They started ballet dancing at three years old and continued to study at Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Cornish College of the Arts, and Spectrum Dance Theatre School. During their summers, they spent time at the American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia.
In addition to their dance training, Dumont also began taking violin lessons at four years old and went on to play with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Glendale Youth Orchestra. Dumont's modeling career began when they won V Magazine's model search contest at 15 years old. They appeared in the March 2010 issue and landed a contract with Ford Models. They worked fashion week in New York City that year and went on to model in Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, China, and Tokyo.
However, acting remained one of Dumont's greatest passions. They continued to pursue their craft, landing roles in television series and indie films. Their breakthrough role came when they were cast as Polaris in the FOX drama series "The Gifted," which premiered on October 2, 2017. The show follows an ordinary suburban family whose lives change course forever when they discover their children have developed mutant powers.
In addition to their work on "The Gifted," Dumont has appeared in other notable projects, including NBC's "Aquarius" opposite David Duchovny and ABC Family's "Bunheads." They made their feature film debut in director Craig Johnson's "True Adolescents" at 12 years old, alongside Melissa Leo and Mark Duplass.
