Eric "Bobo" Correa, the son of renowned Latin jazz musician Willie Bobo Correa, began his musical journey at the tender age of four, when he started drumming. He made his first public appearance at the age of five, joining his father on stage.
As he grew older, Eric's passion for music only intensified, and he continued to hone his skills. When his father tragically passed away at the age of 15, Eric took over his Latin jazz band, performing as the leader for an entire year while still in high school.
Eric's musical talents did not go unnoticed, and he was soon accepted into C.S.U.L.A. (California State University, Long Beach) for three years, where he studied jazz and worked in the music department. During his time at C.S.U.L.A., he recorded three critically acclaimed jazz LPs: We're Back, Diversions, and Monstrosity!.
Eric's big break came when he was recommended to audition for the Beastie Boys, and he was accepted as a member of their national "Check Your Head" tour. He went on to record with the group on their albums Ill Communication and Hello Nasty.
While touring with the Beastie Boys, Eric met Cypress Hill and joined the group as their percussionist, splitting his time between both groups. As the Beastie Boys took a break from touring, Eric became a full-time member of Cypress Hill and has since toured and recorded with the group.
In 2005, Eric released his debut album, Meeting of the Minds, which featured appearances by B-Real and Tony Touch. He later teamed up with Latin Bitman to form the group Ritmo Machine, releasing the album "Welcome to the Ritmo Machine" in 2012, which featured appearances by Mixmaster Mike, Sen Dog, Ana Tijoux, and others.
Throughout his career, Eric "Bobo" Correa has been a driving force in the music industry, bringing his unique talent and energy to various projects and collaborations. His dedication to his craft has earned him a reputation as a versatile and skilled musician, and he continues to be an integral part of the music scene.
