Eric Edwards is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in various fields, including film, television, live theater, and stand-up comedy. He has worked relentlessly in all four mediums, co-starring in two feature films, one television movie, and an original one-man show within a year.
Edwards got his start in stand-up comedy, opening for headliners like Andrew "Dice" Clay. He has since entertained audiences across the country with his high-energy performances and has made numerous guest TV appearances, including Fox's Townsend Television, BET's The Comic View, and Showtime's award-winning special, Attack of the 5'2" Women.
As an actor, Edwards has been active at Playhouse West, co-starring in the critically acclaimed dark comedy, Aaron Gillespie Will Make You A Star. He is also a cast member of the longest-running drama in Los Angeles, Welcome Home Soldier. Edwards has authored and starred in the critically acclaimed and capacity-filled, Calorically Challenged... and Proud of It, a one-and-a-half man show.
Edwards has also appeared in various films, including Universal's Sgt. Bilko, Problem Child 2, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Little Rascals, and National Lampoon's Senior Trip. He played "Pearl" in the Wesley Snipes blockbuster hit Blade and co-starred in the comedy about high school slackers, Senior Trip.
In 1999, Edwards lost 210 pounds, which inspired him to co-write and star in the inspirational one-man comedy play, Just Step. Since the show's debut in November 1999, it has been having a positive impact on packed houses in Los Angeles and has received critical praise from the LA Times, LA Weekly, and Noho LA.
Edwards has also appeared in numerous television shows, including Strong Medicine, American Dad, Desperate Housewives, Everybody Hates Chris, and Parks and Recreation. In 2010, his video, The Weight is Over, was picked up for the Reel Recovery Film Festival, and his new original play, A Mixed Tape, premiered at Playhouse West in November 2010.
