Biography

Esper Hagen Andersen, the son of actress Asta Esper Andersen and actor Paul Hagen, was a student of Gerda Gilboe and graduated from the Odense Teaters elevskole in the years 1968-1971. He made his debut on September 14, 1967, as Tommy in "Pippi Langstrømpe" at the Det ny Teater in Copenhagen.

Subsequently, he had engagements at various theaters and revues, including Værkstedsteatret in Odense, Odense Teater in 1970, ABC-Teatret from 1972-73, and Det Danske Teater. In "Rottefælden" at the Svendborg Sommerteater in 1972, he had the opportunity to showcase his comedic talent for the first time, which marked a breakthrough, and in 1974, he returned to play the double role of church and traffic minister Kresten Damsgaard.

Esper Hagen is particularly remembered for his role in "Matador" as the ambitious first manager of Mads Skjern. Since then, he has provided voices for various characters in animated films.
