Evan Farmer, the charismatic host of TLC's While You Were Out, brings a diverse array of talents to the hit home design series. In addition to his music career and roles on screens large and small, Evan holds a degree in architecture from Tulane University. Prior to his television career, he worked as a draftsman and graphics designer at several firms. Moreover, he owns his own business, Renovolution, specializing in renovating single-family homes, and has a strong interest in carpentry and restoration. Evan Farmer is well known for his television role as heartthrob Jerry O'Keefe in MTV's smash-hit and first-ever Made-For-TV-Movie, 2gether, in 2000. He also recorded lead vocals for the soundtrack and follow-up album, which together went platinum worldwide. The success of the movie spawned a weekly MTV series of the same name, with Evan continuing in the lead role. Furthermore, he has guest hosted MTV's Total Request Live for Carson Daly, the cable network's most-watched program.
The popularity of 2gether led Evan to an even bigger showcase for his talent, performing as an opening act for Britney Spears during her 2000 "Oops... I Did It Again" summer tour. He also previously toured with the hit Russian Pop-Rock group "Ha-Ha" (pronounced Na-Na),where he sang and played guitar in sold-out arenas throughout Russia.
Evan has also had a film career, acting in films such as Austin Powers in Goldmember and Shaft, starring Samuel L. Jackson. His small-screen credits include guest-starring roles on the television series JAG and a recurring role on CBS's Guiding Light. Additionally, he lent his voice talent to the popular animated comedy series Daria for three years.
