Ewart Chin's life was forever changed by his early exposure to Goju-Ryu Japanese Karate, which he began studying at a remarkably young age. However, he soon discovered that the style was too rigid and demanding for his liking, prompting him to seek out a softer and more accommodating martial art. It was during this period of exploration that he met a Master from KwangTung province, China, who was a close friend of his grandfather, also from KwangTung. This chance encounter led to Ewart's introduction to Hung-Gar Kung Fu, a style that would go on to dominate his martial arts journey for the remainder of his life.
Under the guidance of his wise and experienced Master, Sifu Wan-Hsu, Ewart dedicated himself to the study and practice of Hung-Gar Kung Fu, eventually attaining the esteemed title of Master. This profound journey not only honed his physical skills but also had a profound impact on his life, transforming him in ways that he could never have imagined.
Years later, Ewart's path would take him to the United States, where he would pursue a new career in the film industry as both an actor and stunt performer. His impressive résumé would earn him a place among the esteemed ranks of the World Martial Arts Council, the USA Martial Arts Hall Of Fame, and the Martial Arts History Museum.
In addition to his martial arts pursuits, Ewart would also devote himself to the study of Qi-Gong, a discipline that he would practice for approximately ten years in Los Angeles under the guidance of a wise and experienced Monk from the revered Wu Dang Monastery in China. This profound and transformative practice would allow him to balance the internal and external energies of his martial arts practice, deepening his understanding of the art and its profound implications for his physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Throughout his life, Ewart would be fortunate enough to study under the guidance of several remarkable Masters, including the incomparable Master Zhou Ting Jue from Wu Dang province, who would serve as an invaluable teacher and mentor.
