Person Biography:
Fares Landoulsi is a talented and ambitious actor who has achieved international success at a young age. Born in Tunisia, Fares developed a passion for cinema at the age of seven and began training in acting, dancing, and singing.
Fares' acting career started at the age of 15 when he appeared in the French film "What the Day Owes the Night" (2012). He then went on to study at the Institut Supérieur d'Art Dramatique in France and graduated in 2015.
In addition to his film work, Fares has also appeared in several Tunisian TV series and short films. He has worked with notable directors such as Sonia Chamkhi and Sabry Bouzid.
Fares' breakthrough role came in 2018 when he co-starred in the short film "Omertà" at the Cannes Film Festival. He received rave reviews for his performance and was selected by Screen International as one of the Arab Stars of Tomorrow.
In 2019, Fares landed the leading role in Charlie Kouka's short film "The Return" and also starred in Netflix's "Messiah". His performance in "Messiah" earned him international recognition and put him on the map as a young Arab talent with global potential.
Fares' preparation for his role in "Messiah" was intense, involving weight loss, learning the Palestinian dialect, and immersing himself in the stories of refugees.
In addition to his film work, Fares has also worked behind the camera, filming and documenting the making of a film and its behind-the-scenes footage. He has also been involved in several other projects, including the Tunisian drama "Awled El Ghoul" and the film "Road to El Kef".
Fares' latest project is the film "Alia", directed by Zahra Berrada. He was also selected as a Berlinale Talent 2022, one of only 25 participants from over 2,250 candidates from 116 countries.
